Union Civil War regulation ‘US’ 1839 pattern NCO/Enlisted man’s belt plate with tall letters, right handed buckle arrow hooks. Designed to secure a belt fitted over a soldier's jacket used to carry his cartridge and cap box. This larger large size plate was most likely manufactured between the 1850's and the end of the Civil War.
Brass plate is stamped on thin sheet brass, solder filled. Plate measures: 57mm x 87mm, approx and is in good condition.
