M.B.E. London Gazette 1 January 1945. Flight Lieutenant Alexander Skene, MB Edin, R.A.F.V.R.

Alexander Skene was granted a commission in the Medical Branch, Royal Air Force for the duration of hostilities as Squadron Leader on 26 November 1940.

London Gazette 8 April 1947 lists Flight Lieutenant A. Skene, M.B.E. M.B., Ch.B, to retain rank of Squadron Leader on appointment to the reconstituted Royal Auxiliary Air Force. London Gazette 15 July 1952, promoted Squadron Leader 1 April 1950.

Alexander Skene, M.B.E. M.B. 1940, F.R.C.P.ED. died on 12 August 1970 at Waterloo, Liverpool.
