1471135 Gunner Thomas William Kelk, enlisted into the Royal Regiment of Artillery on 15 March 1939 and was called up on 19 August that year. Promoted Staff Sergeant in August 1940 and Warrant Officer II in January 1942. During the War, he served with the Royal Regiment of Artillery 292/94 Anti-Aircraft Regiment before transferring to the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He saw active service with the 78th Division, First Army in North Africa and the 78th Division, 8th Army (V Corps) in Sicily and Italy.
