VX56861 Sapper Reginald Harry Cameron, aged 30 from Melbourne, enlisted into the Royal Australian Engineers on 3 June 1941. He embarked for overseas service on 23 August 1942, disembarking at Suez on 8 October. From 8 January 1943, he served with 2/3 Field Company in the Middle East, returning to Australia on 27 February that year. Cameron died of disease on 30 March 1944 and is buried at Tamworth War Cemetery, Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia.
