Group of 66 photos taken during the Boer War, 58 of various sizes averaging 8 x 11cm and 8 larger averaging 14 x 20cm.
Some really good photos, many labelled in pencil to reverse; a number of which were taken of the 1st KRR whilst visiting the battlefields of the 1st Boer War; various shots of Majuba Hill, monument to those killed at Ingogo River, Colley’s 1st grave on Majuba, Majuba from Laing’s Nek, a couple of KRR’s transport crossing Ingogo Drift, graves of men on Majuba, Colley’s current grave, mounted Officers of the 1st KRR’s on road to Majuba from Ingogo and a superb photo of a small number of Officers/NCO’s of the KRR’s on Majuba.
Other photos include; Pieters Hill, photos of maps of the conflict, Tugela River at Colenso, various of the Tugela, The Bluff Durban, Boer dwellings at Tugela Heights, couple of debris of battlefield, couple of RE repairing destroyed bridge, prison at Nootgedacht 1900 and one of where Boer prisoners tried to escape, a Pom Pom in action, Natal Carbineers striking camp and a number of scenic/farms/factories.

Of the larger photos, one seems to be of British POW’s being loaded onto a train, General Buller viewing shelling at Colenso, a couple more panoramic shots of soldiers deployed during the battle of Colenso, three rather gruesome photos of British dead at Spion Kop and a panoramic shot of the destroyed bridge at Colenso.
Condition of the photos is very good, not many faded; see the PDFto get an idea of content but not the first set of pictures have been scanned to give an idea of quality, the send lot are low resolution taking with a digital camera.
