WW1 US THIRD ARMY PILOTS TUNIC AND BREECHES

WWI U.S. Signal Corps Tailor Made Pilots' Tunic and Breeches. The wool-twill tunic was tailored by Society Brand Clothing and features four button-flap pockets and a five-button front. All buttons are brown plastic or composition. The stand-up collar is complete with pin-back metal "U.S.R" and Signal Corps devices. The straps have metal "coffin" style pin-back captain's bars. A nicely detailed gold-wire pilot's wing is sewn above the upper left pocket and below a victory medal ribbon with one ‘battle’ clasp star, both these a little ‘salty’ from the tunic being washed as they are non removable.

The upper left sleeve features the pre November 1918 "C" patch the "Third Army Aviation Group". The lower left sleeve has a single gold-wire overseas service stripe. The riding breeches have some scattered moth holes. The tunic is in excellent condition.
