MASSACHUSETTS MINUTEMAN ‘HENRY S. EWER, CORPL.I.4th.REG’

Henry S Ewer, aged 28, mustered into Company ‘I’ of the 4th Massachusetts (Militia) Infantry as aCorporal on 22nd April 1861. He mustered out on 22nd July 1861 after their 3 month service was overand mustered into Company ‘A’ 32nd Massachusetts Infantry on 26th November 1861. He wasdischarged due to disability on 7th March 1863.

Taking part in various campaigns with the 32nd 1862-3,the now Sergeant Ewer’s toughest test wouldbe during would the assaults on Marye's Heights at the battle of Fredericksburg in December 1862.
