James Webb was a from Widnes near Warrington, he joined the 1st King's Royal Rifle Corps in July 1879 and served in South Africa from 1881-82. Having transferred to the 3rd Battalion in March 1881, he served in Egypt, 1882-84, Cyprus 1884-85 and Egypt in 1885, Webb was discharged in 1891.

Service papers note under ‘Injuries in service’; ‘right arm and his third rib fractured on 23 March 1883’. It is unclear if this was an injury or wounds.

Condition VF, a little contact around unit from Star, or better. Sold with copied service papers and rolls. Ex Dixon’s 2017.
