EGYPT AND SUDAN 1882-9, UNDATED REVERSE, 2 CLASPS SUAKIN 1885, TOFREK ‘5976, PTE F. W. WILLIAMSON, MED: S. CORPS.’ KHEDIVES STAR, DATED 1884-6

Army and Navy Gazette 28 March 1885, which lists casualties for the battle of Tofrek, lists Private Williamson and 3 other men from the Medical Staff Corps as wounded and 2 killed. This was nearly a third of the men from this unit present.

Medal and clasps confirmed on roll. Only 17 men of the Medical Staff Corps were present at the Battle of Tofrek, 22 March 1885.

Royal Hospitals admissions and discharges notes Williams attested 27 May 1884 and was discharged 14 July 1885, presumably due to wounds.

Condition VF, a little contact from Star. Attractive dark patina.
