AFGHANISTAN 1878, 2 CLASPS, KABUL, KANDAHAR ‘B/588 PTE J. BROWN, 92ND HIGHRS’.

James Brown, aged 20 from Liff and Benvie, Dundee, enlisted into the 92nd Highlanders on 4 November 1876. He served in the East Indies, November 1877 to March 1879, Afghanistan, March 1879 until October 1880 (Afghan War), East Indies October 1880 to January 1881, South Africa January 1881 to January 1882 (1st Boer War) and the rest of his service at home.

He transferred to the Reserve on 9 June 1882.
