WW1 ROYAL NAVAL AIR SERVICE (R.N.A.S.) GILT OBSERVER’S ‘O’ WINGS

A fine and very scarce example of the gilt R.N.A.S. Observer wing with two screw posts and retaining nuts to the reverse.

Issued from June 1917, these wings were worn on the cuff of the Reefer jacket and the left breast of khaki land service tunic. This insignia was discontinued on the creation of the Royal Air Force ion 1 April 1918.
