1) Example retaining backing plates, eagle and crown attached by screw nuts.

2) Example of just the eagle and crown, these having loops for split pin attachment. These an unusual type that was attached to an thin metal oval disc. See Pg 121 of Flight Badges if the Allied Nations 1914-18 by Pandis for another example with the plate.

3) Example just the eagle, screws to reverse which are fixed with soler. Possibly converted for use on cap badge.
